Benefit planned March 16 for Lindsey Moneypenny

FPS staff report

A benefit is planned for March 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for Lindsey Moneypenny.

Along with a pasta dinner, there will be a bake sale, 50/50 hourly raffle, basket raffle, and a raffle to win a 46-inch RCA LCD HDTV. The benefit will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 400 W. Lisbon St., Waynesburg.

Moneypenny is a 2005 graduate of Sandy Valley High School and a 2009 graduate of Malone University. She was diagnosed with Stage IV Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer in February 2013. It has metastasized to her right lower leg, left hip and some lymph node involvement.

She has received a variety of treatments since her diagnosis, ranging from IV chemotherapy and oral chemotherapy, tomotherapy, and radiation therapy. She continues to receive treatments.

Proceeds will help with medical expenses. Donations are accepted to the Lindsey Moneypenny Benefit Fund at The Bank of Magnolia. For questions, contact Lanie Jones at 330-477-2202, Frances Dierick at 330-866-2380 or Tricia Jones at 330-605-4528.

Lindsey is the daughter of Robert and Melodye Bolin Moneypenny.
