Denise Lorraine (Roach) Kay
Denise Lorraine (Roach) Kay, age 57, passed away after a lengthy illness, May 24, 2013, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehab, Point Pleasant, WV.
Born July 9, 1955, in Fort Knox, KY, she was a daughter of Edward and Alberta (Cole) Roach.
Denise grew up in Malvern, OH, and graduated from Malvern High School in 1973. She attended Massillon (OH) School of Nursing where she received a diploma degree in Nursing. She began a long career in psychiatric nursing, practicing at Massillon State Hospital, Massillon, OH; Dorothea Dix Mental Hospital, Raleigh, NC; G. Pierce Wood State Hospital, Arcadia, FL; Cape Coral Nursing Pavilion, Cape Coral, FL; Ruth Cooper Behavioral Center, Fort Myers, FL; and The Cloisters, Pineland, FL.
She formerly resided in Cape Coral, FL and Alva, FL.
Denise married Douglas Charles Kay in 1981 in Cape Coral, FL. They were happily married for 31 years. Denise enjoyed fishing, shelling, white water rafting, riding dirt bikes, sailing and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas of Southside, WV; her son, Michael Charles Kay of Charleston, WV; her grandson, Daniel Ryland Kay; mother, Alverta Roach of North Fort Myers, FL; sister, Lorrie (Scott) Reaves, Lehigh Acres, FL; mother-in-law, Jacqueline Kay, Lexington, KY; brother-in-law, Robert (Heidi) Kay, Richmond, VA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward McCoy Roach
