Naomi A. Rummell
Naomi A. Rummell, age 87, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, in Carroll Healthcare Center in Carrollton.
Born Jan. 12, 1926, in Carrollton, she was a daughter of the late Milo and Eva Thompson Ray.
Naomi was one of the first participants of the International Foreign Youth Exchange in 1947, a 4-H advisor, 4-H council member, and participated in various 4-H Extension activities. She was a founding member of the Drive-It-Yourself Tour and Farmer for a Day. She was a member of Herrington Bethel United Methodist Church for 62 years and was active in the United Methodist Women organization where she was a district secretary for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arthur, whom she married June 11, 1948; three sons, Ray (Ronda) Rummell and Alan Rummell, both of Sherrodsville, Lee (Rebecca) Rummell of Carrollton; daughter, Sue (Mike) Little of East Rochester; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Pastor Lee Iden officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton. Visitation will be Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
