David Edmond Schandel
David Edmond Schandel, age 74, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013.
Born Nov. 29, 1938, in Alliance, he was the son of Cornelius Michael and Irene Armstrong Schandel.
David was a 1956 graduate of Malvern High School and in 1960 he received a bachelor's degree in Business and a master's degree from Capitol University in Columbus. Following college, Dave attended Officer Candidate School while serving active duty in the U. S. Navy. He was a retired accountant from Lennox Industries and York International. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, GA.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances D. Schandel, Lawrenceville, GA; two sons, Brian Schandel, his wife, Traci, Bowling Green, KY, and Jeff Schandel, his wife, Christine, Lawrenceville, GA; two granddaughters, Megan Schandel and Caitlin Schandel; one grandson, Anthony Schandel; sister, Margaret Coy, Carrollton; and a niece; and a nephew.
A Celebration of His Life was held April 13 at Prospect United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Harben and Rev. Eddie Herring officiating followed by a reception in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, Grace Arbor Congregation Respite Program, P. O. Box 2127, Lawrenceville, GA 30046 or Prospect United Methodist Church, "Footprints for the Future", 1539 Prospect Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30043 in memory of David E. Schandel.
Flanigan Funeral Home and Crematory in Buford, GA, was in charge of arrangements.
