Roger Graham, age 83, of Dellroy died Friday evening, Jan. 17, 2014, in Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
Born Oct. 25, 1930, in Sandstone, WV, he was a son of the late Russell and Leoma Graham.
Roger retired from James Brothers Coal in Magnolia where he worked as a dragline operator for 40 years.
He was a veteran of the US Navy from 1947-1952. He was a member of Dellroy Methodist Church, Dellroy American Legion, Dellroy Odd Fellows Lodge, Minerva VFW Post, a life member of Carroll County DAV, Scottish Rite - Valley of Canton, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction (Canton) 32 degree, Tadmor Temple Shrine (Akron), Knights Templar No. 38 (Canton), Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio, Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons Minerva Chapter 123, Eastern Star Carroll Chapter 315, Grand Lodge of F&AM of Ohio Carroll Lodge 124, Dellroy Village Council, and Dellroy Community Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred (King) Graham whom he married Nov. 10, 1950; three sons, Roger (Don) Graham of Cambridge, Ronald Graham of Cumberland, and Calvin Graham of Dellroy; a daughter, Beverly Mares of Carson City, NV; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, Richard Graham of Dellroy and Frank Graham of Minerva; two sisters, Mary Haupt of Alliance and Lou Hepner of Carrollton; and one sister-in-law.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 22 in Dellroy United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Ogg officiating. Burial will follow in New Harrisburg Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion, VFW, and DAV. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Masonic Services at 8:30 p.m.
