Richard "Dick" Myers
Richard "Dick" Myers, 88, of N. Lisbon St., Carrollton, passed away in his home Friday evening, April 1, 2011, with his family by his side following a short illness.
Born Aug. 31, 1922, in Carrollton, he was the son of the late Jay and Elizabeth Thornhill Myers.
He was a retired sheet metal worker from AB Stafford Company in Canton. He also worked with his late brother, Henry, at Myers Tin Shop in Carrollton. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrollton.
His is survived by his wife, the former Helen Louise Long, whom he married July 17, 1950; three children, sons, Richard C. (Judy) Myers and Dan (Kathy) Myers, both of Carrollton and daughter, Vickie McKenzie of Sedro Wooley, WA; two granddaughters, Dulce and Sadie Myers of Carrollton; a grandson, Greg (Amy) Myers of Baltimore, MD; and two great grandchildren, Noah and Lindsay Myers.
A private memorial service with immediate family and close friends was held at Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery in Carrollton.
