William J. "Bill" Hanenkrat

William J. "Bill" Hanenkrat, age 67, of 164 Granada Road N.W., Dellroy, died early Saturday morning, May 4, 2013, in his residence surrounded by his family.

Born Sept. 13, 1945, he worked as a construction estimator for most of his life.  As a younger man, he participated in bowling and enjoyed fishing.  He always relished the opportunity to play cards with his friends. In his later years, he took up the hobby of antiquing.  But Bill cherished the time he spent with his family, and most especially sharing his time and wisdom with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jean E. Winter Hanenkrat, whom he married June 19, 1971; a daughter and two sons, Mrs. Mike (Stephanie) McCartney of Dellroy, Kevin (Heather) Hanenkrat of Kimbolton, and Chad (Kyle) Hanenkrat of Carrollton; his six grandchildren, Justin Jackson of Orlando, FL, Brooke and Colton Bing, both of Kimbolton, Karley and Ryleigh Hanenkrat, both of Carrollton, and Hailee Hanenkrat of Kimbolton; and six sisters and one brother.

In accordance with Bill's wishes, no calling hours or formal services will be held.  A Family Open House will be observed commencing May 11 at 2 p.m. at the family residence. Private interment of his ashes will take place in Baxter's Ridge Cemetery near New Harrisburg. The Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville is handling arrangements.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Carroll County, 1040 Trump Road N.W. Suite B, Carrollton, OH  44615 or may be made directly to the family for their benefit in defraying expenses.  To leave an online condolence message, visit www.baxtergardner.com.
