Harold L. Walters
Harold L. Walters, 84, of Carrollton passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, in Aultman Hospital.
Born Jan. 11, 1929, in Perry Twp., he was a son of Glicy and Roy Walters.
He married Ruth Ketchum, the love of his life in 1957. He served four years in the Navy and went on to further his education by attending Andrews Barber College in Columbus. Then for the next 50-some years, he operated Walters Barber Shop in Carrollton.
He graduated from Perrysville High School and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge 124 of Carrollton and the VFW. He loved to hunt and fish. He played music and enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Harold (Cathy) Walters of Perrysville and Mark Walters of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Hannah Walters, Isaac Walters, Matthew Walters, and Luke Walters; a great great grandson, Mason McLaughlin; a sister, Elaine Gavorick; and a brother, Merle (Libby) Walters.
The family sends a special thank you to the Aultman Dialysis Unit and all the wonderful nurses who took care of him.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton with full military services provided by the DAV, VFW, and American Legion.
Calling hours will be Oct. 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home with Masonic services at 6:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church of Carrollton.
