George Ross Bake

George Ross Bake, age 91, of Carrollton passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, in Carroll Healthcare Center.

Born April 21, 1919 , in Harrison County near Germano, he was a son of the late Abraham H. and Lauvada (Thomas) Bake.

He worked at Carrollton Manufacturing, Surety Rubber, the Scio Pottery and had been farmer.  He was a member of Perrysville Methodist Church.

He is survived by a son, Roy D. (Charlene) Bake of Scio; a daughter, Donna (Roger) Callahan of New Philadelphia; two half-sisters, Geraldine Moyer and Catherine Dowell; nine grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Odessa Beckley, whom he married April 28, 1937, and who passed away Sept. 12, 2002; three brothers; two half-brothers; four sisters; and a half-sister.

Funeral services will be Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. at Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Dawson officiating.  Burial will follow in Perrysville Cemetery.  Calling hours will be Friday Nov. 12 from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
