Louis Gregory Kava
Louis Gregory Kava passed away peacefully in his home in Mechanicstown Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, in his 78th year.
He is survived by special friend, Roxie Sutton, and Arlene Kava (Rose), the mother of his five beautiful children: Daniel G. Kava (deceased), Susan L. Kava, Sally A. Selby (Robert), James D. Kava, and Anton E. Kava (Stacey). He was a loving grandfather to David Travagliante (Leanne), Daniel Travagliante (Alyson), James Travagliante (Erin), Daniel P. Kava (Heather), Dustin Kava, Bryan Cutlip, Julianne Kava, Rebecca Cutlip, Emily Cutlip, Braedon Kava, and Lauren Kava; and a great-grandfather of seven.
Born Sept. 29, 1935, he joined the Navy in his teenage years and was a veteran of the Korean War. Louis was a lifelong bricklayer and entrepreneur retiring from his last business, Maplewood Construction, in 1997. He was an avid hunter, tractor collector, member of Quarry Masonic Lodge #382 and Brecksville Chapter O.E.S 537.
Memorial service will be held Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. at Herrington Bethel United Methodist Church, 4009 Arbor Road NE, Mechanicstown, OH 44651. If desired, donations in memory of Louis can be made to the Herrington Methodist Church.
