To the Editor:
On Jan. 1, a longtime voice and supporter of Carroll County agriculture retired. Bruce Burgett stepped down as manager of Carrollton Farmers Exchange after many years of service. He was a visionary leader who led the company into the 21st century and has the Farmers Exchange poised to meet the ever changing environment in agri-business in our county.

Bruce has been progressive in his approach to business and has been very supportive of ag related organizations such as 4-H, FFA and Carroll County Farm Bureau just to name a few. We are grateful to him for all he’s done for our community. We wish him a well-deserved retirement and wish Henry Moore the best of luck in leading the Farmers Exchange as its new manager. We fully expect more of the successful leadership we witnessed under Bruce’s guidance.

Bill Newell
Carroll County Farm Bureau
