To the Editor:
I am sorry but I believe the Junior ROTC is a great thing for all the students who take the course.

When I graduated from Uniontown Pennsylvania High School in 1954, I wanted to go to college but I could not afford it and dad told me to go to work. I enlisted in the U.S. Army for three years active duty and eight years of standby. This decision allowed me to register at Waynesburg College for four years (paid by the G.I. Bill). I was able to major in two areas and minor in one area.

To make a long story short, I was able to get a job in Carrollton teaching for 30 years and coaching wrestling for 25 years and meet some outstanding students. It also provided me the opportunity to get another job, the Carrollton Fire Department, which I really enjoyed. I retired after 43 years.
