To the Editor:
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit, would like to extend our gratitude to the local businesses and community members who supported the 3rd Annual K9 Golf Outing. The community support for the K9 unit has been truly remarkable. As you may know, there are two commissioned K9s working for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. K9 Nero (handler Lieutenant Ron Clapper) and K9 Oz (handler Deputy Shane Beohm) are both dual-purpose dogs who are trained in narcotics detection, criminal apprehension, and tracking. With community donations, the Carroll County K9 Fund is able to continue to provide necessary training and working materials for the dogs. Each year, we are appreciative of the outpouring of support we receive throughout our community. We were fortunate to have so many individuals and teams participate in the golf outing and volunteers who assisted us with many tasks on that day. Additionally, we would like to thank the Pozderac family and the staff at Carroll Meadows Golf Course for helping make the event such a great success. We would also like to thank the local business and individuals who made donations or sponsored holes for the event: Sheriff Dale Williams, Carroll Electric Cooperative, Carrollton Ace Hardware, Braces’, Elite Welding Supply & Tool Company, Huebner Chevrolet Subaru, Nationwide Insurance-Jon Rinkes Agency, Countryside Recycling Service, Gotch & Company, Jimmy’s Backyard BBQ, Gioninos Pizzeria, Knot-A-Bistro, Atwood Lake Boats East Marina, Dellroy Drive-In, Ron Ruegg Automotive, Carrollton Ponderosa, Hepner’s Pool Supplies, R M Auto, John & Melanie Campbell, Brooks Auto Parts, Heritage Plastics, McCort’s Family Footwear & Sportswear, R L Auto Care Center, Gateway Royalty, Turnipseed Allstate Agency, McFadden Insurance Agency, Guess Motors, Virginia Restaurant & Lounge, Efficient Services Ohio, Seven Ranges Mfg.
