To the Editor:
On behalf of the CCAPL’s directors and members, we wish to thank the general public and our awesome member-volunteers for making our three-day rummage sale over Memorial Weekend held at Garner’s Auction Barn a huge success! A special thanks to Larry and Kay Garner for allowing us to hold our rummage sale at their Auction Barn.

We are striving to raise the necessary funding of $500,000 to build our no-kill animal shelter on our property, located at 4901 Canton Rd. NW, (St. Rt. 43) between Carrollton and Malvern, Ohio. So far we have $100,000 towards the construction.

In May, we received $4,000 from the Ashton Preservation Foundation with a commitment to us for additional funding of $4,000 in May of 2014, and May of 2015. We thank the Ashton Preservation Association for the three-year grant and for their support of our project goal.

We have $93,248.28 invested in our land and the necessary preparations are done of the animal shelter site and parking lot. We completed this stage of our progress in 2011. We raised this money through grants, public support of our fundraisers, anonymous donors, an on-going yearly living trust monetary gift, and our incredible members! The next stage is to build the no-kill animal shelter as soon as the necessary funding is raised to build it. Our no-kill animal shelter plans are done and the animal shelter is designed with the animal’s safety and needs as top priority as is the safety of the volunteers and the general public once the animal shelter is built.

Anyone wanting to donate to our no-kill animal shelter fund may do so by sending your monetary gift to the: Carroll County Animal Protection League - P.O. Box 353, Carrollton, Ohio 44615-0353. Any amount would be greatly appreciated to reach our goal!

You can visit our website at: www.ccapl.webs.com to view the no-kill animal shelter plans and other pertinent information regarding the CCAPL’s progress and up-coming fundraisers.
