To the Editor:
The Carrollton Warrior Football Team and Coaching Staff would like to thank all those who came out to the second annual Community Day at Community Field and supported the Carrollton Warrior Football Team and the Run for Rosie.

The purpose of Community Day was not to watch a football game but to have an opportunity where every member of our community could come to our beautiful stadium and enjoy a day with their family. There were many different games and events that took place during Community Day and we are hoping that each year this will continue to grow.

I would like to personally thank former NFL Linebacker Anthony Griggs and Joe Hoffman of the Legends Foundation along with the NFL and USA Football for their inspirational and motivational words they gave our athletes and coaches. I would also like to thank them for supporting our football program and our community by putting on the Carrollton Youth NFL Pro Combine Day and feeding our young athletes. It was great event and it was so exciting to see all of our young athletes out there running around giving effort. I was so impressed with all that they did. To all the YMCA Youth Football Coaches that helped with the Pro Combine and ran the Punt/Pass/Kick competition, I greatly appreciate all of your leadership and the example that you set forth for our young Warriors! We are so blessed to have men like you in our community that can serve as an example of what this great sport can teach you. I would also like to congratulate our 2013 Punt/Pass/Kick Winners. They are Josh Carman, Kaleb Whitmore, Alex Carrothers, and Noah Carrothers. Congratulations to all of you!

I also need to take time and recognize the Run for Rosie Committee that showed up to run the corn-hole tournament, start selling raffle tickets for custom made Corn-hole boards with our new C logo on them, and support our program by getting in the dunk tank. All of you continue to amaze me and may God bless all that you do! Community please remember that they are selling the “Ultimate Browns Experience.”

I would like to thank this year’s sponsors; Ashton’s 5 and 10, Carroll Meadows Golf Course, McCort’s Sports Wear, Thorne’s IGA, McDonalds, Radio Shack, Pizza Hut, and Ponderosa Steak House. We are very lucky to have businesses in our community that love our youth and are always willing to give in support of them.
I would also like to thank the Augusta Fire Department for donating their time and their Dunk Tank to this event and Tim Hawk and family for donating the inflatable obstacle course to this day, it was a major hit! I would also like to thank all of our amazing parents that continuously put in countless hours for these young men and this program. Our parent leadership is awesome! I hope these young men know and understand how much they’re loved!
Lastly, I have to thank Lisa Byler and Assistant Coach Steve VanMeter for all they did to make this event a possibility. Everything that was great about this day originated with you and I can’t begin to show my gratitude for all that you two did to make this day run so smoothly. Without your insight and commitment, none of this would have been possible. You both went above and beyond the call of duty and I greatly appreciate it!
