To the Editor:
I would like to personally thank and recognize Bob and Charlotte Dunlap who are residents of Carrollton. A few weeks ago Bob asked me if I would like a truck for dog food. I was somewhat confused by this inquiry. Bob continued on to explain he and Charlotte decided to “part ways” with their 1990 Chevy S-10 pickup truck and wanted to donate the proceeds from it’s sale to the Carroll County Sheriff’s K-9 Fund. Bob said he and Charlotte are huge advocates of what the K-9s provide for the Sheriff’s Department and feel this was a way they can give back to their community.

Recently, I sold “Old Blue” for $800! This is another fine example of support from community members who realize the importance of having working police dogs on our department. I sincerely appreciate this act of kindness and generosity. K-9 Oz and I will continue to do our best in keeping Carroll County a safe community to reside in.

Deputy Shane A. Beohm and K-9 Oz
