FPS staff report

Brynne Cross and Garett Davis have been named Students of the Month for January at Carrollton High School (CHS) where both are seniors.

Daughter of Kym and Lewis Cross of 14 E. Main St., Dellroy, Brynne has a brother, age 11, and a sister, age 9, and enjoys reading and scrapbooking.

At CHS she is a member of the band, Showstoppers, softball team, National Honor Society, French Club and Academic Challenge.

Upon graduation, Brynne plans to attend either Boston University or the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her future plans are to become a neonatal surgeon/neonatologist or a pediatric surgeon.

When asked what teacher, coach, family member or special friend has influenced her and why, Brynne replied:

Mrs. Incerpi who is a great teacher and always has a positive attitude. She has taught me to always look on the positive side and to never give up.

In offering advice for success in life, Brynne said: “Always look on the bright side and never give up”.

Davis, son of Todd and Kim Davis of 5051 Autumn Rd. SW, Carrollton, has two sisters, Allison, a 6th grader, and Kady, a freshman at CHS.

Extracurricular activities he has been involved in during his high school career include football, baseball, FFA chapter membership and president, Ohio Junior Simmental Association and Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church youth group.

His hobbies include showing livestock at the state and national level and working on the family farm.

Upon graduation, Garett plans to attend The Oho State University and major in agricultural business in hopes of someday running his own agricultural business.

When asked what teacher, coach, family member or special friend has influenced him and why, Garett replied:

Coach McCort. He always pushed me to do my best.

In offering advice for success in life, Garrett said: Say good words, think good thoughts and do good deeds.

As Students of the Month, both Brynne and Garett become eligible for a $500 scholarship to be awarded by Gateway Royalty at the conclusion of the 2012-13 school year to one boy and one girl.

They also will have their pictures displayed in the showcase at CHS and will be treated to lunch by Carrollton High School Principal David Davis.
