Two sophomores at Conotton Valley High School have been nominated to represent their school for the Hugh O’Brian seminar.
Amber Adkins, 16, daughter of John and Bonnie Adkins of Sherrodsville and Logan Miller, 15, son of Victor and Shannon Miller of Bowerston will travel to the University of Akron in June to attend the O’Brian leadership conference. Both were nominated based on their academic standing and their leadership roles, both in and out of the classroom.
Amber plays softball and volleyball at Conotton Valley and also is a tutor and National Honor Society inductee.
Logan is vice president of his 4-H club and a National Honor Society inductee.
The Hugh O’Brian leadership conference, known as HOBT, was founded in 1958 and continues to promote the development of youth volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation. HOBT programs annually provide selected students with unique leadership training, service learning and motivation-building experiences. Conotton Valley supports and promotes the same values for its students, school officials said.
