Carrollton High School girls trackThe Carrollton girls track team remained in the hunt for the Northeastern Buckeye Conference title with a pair of wins last week in a quadrangular at West Branch.

The Lady Warriors defeated Alliance 75-48 and Salem 79-49.

Stephanie Donley recorded three first place finishes for the Warriors. She won the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes with times of 12.5, 26.4 and 101.1.

Abby Wilson swept the shot and discus with throws of 38’1.5” and 130-feet even.

Maddie Dunlap placed first in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs with times of 5:32.5 and 12:09. Dunlap was also a member of the winning 3,200 meter relay team of Naomi Young, Hailey Wells and Kady Davis with a time of 10:06. Young also placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.8. Also placing first were the 800-meter relay team of Davis, Young, Lindsay Schandel and Hayley Barrick with a time of 1:52.1; the 400-meter relay team of Sarah Donley, Barrick, Maddie Birong and Lindsay Schandel with a time of 53.5 and Harley Schandel in the 100 and 300 hurdles with times of 17.9 and 51.9.

Last Friday the Warriors took part in the Marlington Relays at Marlington High School and turned in another strong showing scoring 89 points to place first out of eight teams.

Placing first for Carrollton was the discus team of Lexi Kurtz, Jackie Stragan and Wilson with a distance of 284’.50”; the 6,400-meter relay team of Dunlap, Wells, Taylar Bennett and Young with a time of 22:51.91; the 3,200-meter relay team of Davis, Young, Wells and Dunlap with a time of 10:24.8; the distance medley team of Wells, Donley, Bennett and Dunlap with a time of 13-minutes flat; Schandel in the 300-hurdles with a time of 51.2 and the 1,600-meter relay team of Davis, Young, Schandel and Donley with a time of 4:12.

Placing second was the 400-meter relay team of Sarah Donley, Hayley Barrick, Lindsay Schandel and Stephanie Donley with a time of 51.9 and the 800-meter relay team of Davis, Barrick, Lindsay Schandel and Stephanie Donley with a time of 1:49.3.

Placing third was the shuttle hurdle team of Harley Schandel, Caitlynn Moyer, Maddie Birong and Lauren Mann with a time of 1:15.3.

Host Marlington was second with 63 points, Alliance third with 56, Southeast fourth with 47 and Field rounded out the top five with 44.

Minerva finished seventh with 40 and Sandy Valley eighth with 20 points.

The Warriors were to end their home schedule Tuesday night against Marlington. They will be at the Jackson Twilight Invitational Friday night at Jackson.

They will end their regular season next week with a meet at Minerva on Tuesday and will take part in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference meet Friday at Salem.
