The Carrollton football program held its first annual Community Day last Saturday afternoon at Community Field.
The large crowd was treated to a Black vs. White inter-squad scrimmage.
The Black defeated the White 13-6.
“It was just awesome,” said Head Carrollton football coach Eric McCort. “It was great experience for our younger kids to be able to put two full squads out there.”
The Black team was coached by Caleb Crowl, Storm Hill and Chris Hawk, while the White was coached by John Cox, Josh Beadnell, Josh Gavin and Nick Roudebush.
The Warrior Marching Band, which had just returned from band camp the previous day, performed its pregame and halftime shows.
The teams played three 10-minute quarters.
Warrior first-year Head Coach Erick McCort and Assistant Coach Butch Wood officiated the game.
Following the game, three jerseys signed by Kansas City quarterback Brady Quinn were auctioned off.
There was also plenty of games, good food and other entertainment for the whole family.
The Warriors will host John Glenn in their first preseason warm up Saturday morning beginning at 10 a.m.
Carrollton will travel to St. Clairsville next Thursday for their final tune up before opening their season Aug. 24 on the road at Mapleton High School.
Their home opener will be Aug. 31 against Edison Local. Their final nonleague matchup will be Sept. 7 at home against Claymont.
Kickoff for the three games will be 7:30 p.m. |
