Aug. 15 - Carroll County Retired Teachers picnic at noon at Carrollton Church of Christ pavilion, 353 Moody Ave., SW, Carrollton.

Aug. 16 - Aultman Bloodmobile at Carrollton Community Field, 207 Scio Rd., Carrollton, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring proper ID. Sponsored by Carrollton Touchdown Club.

Aug. 16 - Carroll County Animal Protection League will man the hog dog stand at Dollar General Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food, t-shirts, home baked goods, more. Proceeds go toward construction of a no kill animal shelter.

Aug. 17 - Carroll County Democrat Central & Executive Committee Annual Chicken BBQ from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Vet’s Club, Brenner Rd., Carrollton. $10 per person. Carryout available. Menu consists of 1/2 chicken, baked potato, green beans, applesauce, roll, dessert, & drink. Aug. 18 - Huff Run Watershed children’s nature/outdoor engagement & environmental education program from 4-6 p.m. at Mineral City Community Garden (Nicole Donant Library if inclement weather). Program geared toward ages 6-12. For info, call 330-859-1050.

Aug. 20 - The Carroll County Humane Society Rabies Vaccination Clinic from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Magnolia park. Each shot is $7. All areas are welcome. Animals must not be pregnant and be at least four month old and caged or on a leash. Proceeds benefit the society's spay/neuter discount program. For questions, call 330-627-3044.

Aug. 22 - Workforce Investment Area 16 Workforce Investment Board quarterly meeting at 10 a.m. at Belmont College Harrison County Center, Sally Buffalo Park, Cadiz.

Aug. 23 - Aultman’s Wellness on Wheels (WOW) program at Dollar General Market from 10 a.m. to noon. Free one-on-one health consultation with a registered nurse, health screenings including blood pressure, body fat percentage, weight and body mass index checks and carbon monoxide screenings.
