25th anniversary celebration planned at local Ace Hardware

Homer and Sandy Mills purchased a building and gas station business on Canton Rd. on the north side of Carrollton just before the Labor Day holiday in 1991. They closed the business one day and opened up the next, using a cigar box for a cash drawer.

Dorsey’s Market closed; to be replaced by BellStore

Malvern is losing one of its longest standing businesses, but a new business to take its place is already in the planning stages.

Cliff and Cindy Dorsey, owner’s of Dorsey’s Market at the intersection of SR 43 and 183, informed Malvern council March 28 about plans to sell the property to Campbell Oil. Dorsey’s have operated the market at that location for 33 years.

Carroll County Commissioners are moving forward with plans to sell the Atwood property.

Commissioners met in executive session last Thursday with Scott Yaeger, president of Radius Hospitality; Randy Budd, vice president of sales and Marketing; Glenn Enslen, Carroll County Economic Development; and Tait Carter, assistant economic development director; to consider the sale of property at competitive bidding.

Consumers opens new corporate headquarters

Consumers National Bank opened its new corporate headquarters and Minerva Branch March 1 at 614 E. Lincoln Way, Minerva.

Theresa Linder, assistant vice president and branch manager, welcomed Debra Stephens as the first customer when the new branch opened for business at 9 a.m.
