Filing deadline nears for November election

Deadline for filing petitions for the November election is less than a month away!

According to Vickie Reed, Carroll County director of elections, petitions for non-partisan offices is Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 4 p.m.

Offices to be elected in 2017 include:

Village Offices

Village councils in Carrollton, Dellroy, Leesville, Magnolia, Malvern and Sherrodsville where four are to be elected in each and Minerva, where two are to be elected.

Unexpired terms of village mayors in Leesville and Malvern.

Magnolia Board of Public Affairs, one to be elected.

Boards of Education

Two are to be elected in the school districts of Brown Local, Carrollton, Conotton Valley Union Local, Osnaburg Local, Sandy Valley Local and three to the boards of education in the school districts of Edison Local, Harrison Hills, Minerva Local, Southern Local, Columbiana County Educational Service Center (ESC), Jefferson County ESC and Stark County ESC. One member is to be elected from Carroll County to the East Central Ohio ESC.

Township Trustees

Two trustees are to be elected in each of Carroll County’s 14 townships which include Augusta, Brown, Center, East, Fox, Harrison, Lee, Loudon, Monroe, Orange, Perry, Rose, Union and Washington.
