The Carrollton High School girls golf team returns five lettermen to a team that finished third in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference (NBC) with an 8-4 record.

Included in the list are two first team NBC and Eastern District selections: seniors Grace Bartlow and Emily Kean. Bartlow has an average of 41.7 and Kean 46.1.

Other returning lettermen and their average include: Sophomore Abby Shockey, 53.9; junior Lexxus Grimes, 56.7; and junior Mallory Fox, 56.5.

Veteran Coach Todd English said two newcomers – junior Regan Weiland and freshman Erin Shockey – are expected to contribute to the team.

The team lost one senior to graduation from the 2016 team – Josie Townsend.

Coach English said his team’s strength this season will come from the five returning lettermen.

“Marlington and Louisville also return a solid group of golfers and are teams I expect to be contenders for the league title,” he said.
