Good attendance on second day of fair

FPS staff report

Jenkins goatTemperatures remained in the mild range for the second day of the Carroll County Fair, which seemed to be the liking of the crowd based on the number of people in attendance.

In the Junior Fair show, champions were crowned in market competitions for goat, steer and dairy beef beefers.

Austin Trbovich exhibited the grand champion steer and Matt Borland, who won the carcass steer competition, was the reserve champion winner.

Austin’s brother, Logan, won the steer showman of showmen competition.

Evan Ferguson won the champion dairy beef feeder banner with his Brown Swiss and Brittany Rohr earned the reserve champion banner with her Holstein.

Evan’s sister, Lynden, won the dairy beef showman of showmen title.

In the market goat competition, Haley Jenkins received the champion banner and Sarah Barnhart won reserve.

Spencer Varney won the contester of contesters award during the Jr. Fair Horse Show which stretched into the late evening hour Tuesdsay.

Exhibitors of all ages participated in the ATV rodeo put on my Joe and Leo Krantz Wednesday evening in front of the grandstand.

Two sessions of tractor pulling are on tap today: a deadweight and antique transfer pull beginning at 9 a.m. this morning and a truck and tractor pull sanctioned by Full Pull Productions this evening beginning at 7 p.m.
