Sylvia M. (Treiber) Creager, 89, formerly of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, in the Canton Regency care facility. Sylvia was born in Stock Township, Harrison County, and was preceded in death by her father, Harry C. Beall, who died in September of 1949, and her mother, Bertha J. Christy Beall, who died on July 27, 1962. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Treiber, who died in 1962, and Harry Creager, who died in 2002. She was also the last member of her generation of the Beall family, as she was preceded in death by two sisters, C. Kathleen Mortland of Springfield, Mass., who died in 1966, and Marjorie E. Ourant of Newcomerstown, who died in 1999; and two brothers, J. Christy Beall of Columbus, who died in 1997, and Reymon Beall of Stock Township. Funeral services to celebrate Sylvia’s life were held on Saturday, July 3, at the Church of the Savior United Methodist Church, Canton. Rev. Edward Fashbaugh conducted the services. Burial followed at the Sunset Hills Burial Park, Jackson Township. Lamiell Funeral Home, 1353 Cleveland Ave., Canton was in charge of the arrangements.
