Charles Edward Black, 86, of Cadiz, died Friday, July 16, 2010, in Wheeling Medical Park Hospital. He was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Byesville, a son of the late Walter and Lillian Graham Black, and lived in Hopedale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gertrude Cooper, a son, Stanley Walter Black; three brothers, William, Ellis and Robert; and two sisters, Mary Sinfield and Patricia Black.
The funeral was held at Borkoski Funeral Home, 555 E. Market St., Cadiz, Ohio, with full military honors provided by Post 525 of the Adena American Legion, on Monday, July 19, 2010 with the Reverend Barry Hall officiating. Entombment followed at Holly Memorial Mausoleum in Pleasant Grove. A full obituary will appear in the next edition of the Harrison News-Herald.
