Stella M. Kozell, 91, of Gnadenhutten, formerly a longtime resident of the Uhrichsville and Stillwater area, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at Union Hospital in Dover while surrounded by her loving family. Born Oct. 17, 1919 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Misharz) Stanco.
On June 30, 1941, she married John Paul Kozell with whom she enjoyed nearly 42 years of marriage until his passing on May 4, 1983.
The last of her family’s generation, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred, Mike and Frank Stanco; sisters, Helen Rocyna and Rose Stanco; and three infant sisters, in addition to her parents and husband.
Services for Stella, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 1, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Greenmont Union Cemetery in Freeport, but due to inclement weather, her committal service will be held at the funeral home instead of at the graveside. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.
