Marilyn B. Rogers, 81, of Uhrichsville, formerly a longtime resident of the Tippecanoe area, passed away on Saturday, Mar. 5, 2011 at Twin City Hospital in Dennison, after a brief illness. Born Dec. 18, 1929 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Grace Elizabeth (Hines) Hodkinson.
In 1952, she married Roy Francis Rogers, Sr. with whom she enjoyed 25 years of marriage until his passing on Feb. 4, 1977.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Hodkinson; son, Joseph A. Rogers, Sr.; grandson, Shannon Rogers; sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and John Willison; brother, Junior Hodkinson; mother and father-in-law, Gladys and Charlie Rogers; nephews, Perry, Jack and Frank; uncle, John; and aunt, Frances.
Services for Marilyn, officiated by Rev. Harry Milligan, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 9, 2011 in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside her husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2011 at the funeral home. Those wishing to honor Marilyn’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the American Cancer Society.
