Charles William “Bill” McCauley, 90, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Walnut Hills Retirement Community in Walnut Creek, after a period of declining health. Born March 1, 1921 on his family’s farm near Bowerston, he was a son of the late Charles Floyd and Mary Alice (Moreland) McCauley.

On Aug. 29, 1953, he married Doris June (Dickey) McCauley and enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage with her until her passing on Sept. 22, 2002.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack E. Norman; a brother, Merle McCauley; two sisters, Margaret Clinton and Jean Overschlake; a grandson; and a great-grandson.

Services officiated by Rev. Mark Unrue, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow beside his beloved wife in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2011 Those wishing to honor Bill’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Holmes County and the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum.
