Richard Dean “Dick” Engstrom, 80, of Freeport, Ohio, passed away at his home on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, after a sudden illness. Born Jan. 8, 1932 in Tippecanoe, Ohio, he was a son of the late Wardley McKinley and Julia Phyllis (Gordon) Engstrom.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Harry, William and Paul Engstrom; sisters, Rosie Ackerman, Julie Ann Engstrom and Wanda Miller; daughter-in-law, Freda Engstrom; and a grandson, Elijah Stine.

Services for Dick, officiated by Pastor James Hauser, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Freeport’s Greenmont Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10.
