Burns Malcolm Stringer, 87, of Peninsula, Ohio, formerly of Harrison County, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Wayside Farms in Peninsula, Ohio. He was born February 4, 1925 in Bloomingdale, Ohio a son of the late George F. and Virginia Oliver Stringer.

Burns was a graduate of Kent State University. He was a former accountant with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Akron. An Army Veteran of WW II, he served in Patton’s 1st Army in an anti-aircraft infantry division and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister Clara Stringer.
Surviving are a brother G. Ray Stringer (Barbara) of Scott Depot, W.Va.; two nephews, G. Ray Stringer, Jr. of West Chester, Pa. and Charles D. Stringer of Hudson, Fla.; two nieces, Linda S. Dell’Olio of North Plainfield, N.J. and Gail L. Trupo of Scott Depot, W.Va.; grand nieces and grand nephews and two great grand nephews.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by a brother G. Raymond Stringer and a sister Clara Stringer.

A graveside service will be held Monday, November 5 at 10 a.m. at Cadiz Union Cemetery with Rev. Ted Davis officiating. The memorial guestbook may be signed at www.clark-kirkland.com.
