Marie Wood, 94, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Scio, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at Community Hospice House, New Philadelphia. Born May 1, 1918 in Paducah, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Horace and Ola Coleman Bevier.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, George Wood, on Jan. 24,1995. They were married May 11, 1950. She is also preceded by a brother, Dr. Charles Bevier.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Koch Funeral Home, Scio, with Rev. Jack Visser officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Scio. Friends may call Saturday two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 498 South Avenue Unit B, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278.
