Reverend Forest Woodbury Carter, 96, of Lakeside-Marblehead, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 5, 2012 in Otterbein North Shore Senior Lifestyle Community. He was born on April 11, 1916 in Alliance, Ohio to the late Clifford and Blanch (Williamson) Carter.  Forest was a graduate of Mount Union University and attended Seminary at Boston University. He was a retired minister of the United Methodist Church, serving for 36 years in the towns of Deersville, Congress, Marlboro, Massillon, Lodi, Loudonville, Caledonia, and Tiro, all in Ohio. After his retirement, he served four years as minister to the Catawba Chapel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Bernice Elia (Scott) Carter, in 2006; brother, Edwin Carter; and a sister, in infancy, Sharon.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in Lakeside United Methodist Church, 450 Central Ave., Lakeside. Burial followed in Sackett Cemetery.
