Viola May Conter, 94, of Marietta, Ohio, formerly of Flushing, Ohio, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Home in Marietta. She was born April 16, 1919 in Flushing Twp., Belmont Co., Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Covert.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Conter; two daughters, Jo Ellen Conter and Peggy Kohr; an infant daughter, Patricia Ann Conter; a son, Staff Sgt. Charles Conter; a sister, Marquerita Gadomski; and a brother, Harry Covert.
Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz, Ohio. Her grandson, Rev. Steven R. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association.
