Caroline A. Kinney, 97, of Canton and formerly of East Sparta, passed away Tuesday evening in Green Meadows Health Center. She was born in Piedmont, a daughter of the late Dempsey and Oda Mae (Young) Persons, resided in Canton since 1991, previously residing in East Sparta over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Charles H. Kinney, on March 15, 1982, and six brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. in East Sparta United Methodist Church with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating. Interment in East Sparta Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, Feb. 22, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. before services at the church. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Green Meadows for the love and care they gave to Caroline.
