Helen Smigiel Thornton, 88, of Jewett, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her home. She was born June 16, 1925 in Ashland, a daughter of the late Edmund and Wanda Seidner Whitcomb.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, David J. Thornton in 2008; and two brothers, Ed and Virgil Whitcomb.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 5, 2014, 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Pastor Dean Blythe will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery near Jewett. Online condolences may be made at www.clark-kirkland.com.
