Ruth A. Taggart Anderson, 82, of Quaker City, Ohio, formerly of Antrim and Cadiz, died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge. She was born August 4, 1931 in Harrison County, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Harriet Edna Dunlap Taggart. Ruth was a nurse’s aid at the former Old Washington Nursing Home and at the Guernsey County Home. She was a member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at the Antrim Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Anderson in 1988; a son Richard Anderson; a stepdaughter, Doris Lightner; seven brothers, Ralph, Charles Leroy, Sam, James, Harry, John and William Frank Taggart; and two sisters, Mary Snyder and Alice Davis. Surviving are a son, Wayne (Patsy) Anderson of Freeport; a daughter, Harriet (Richard) Gray of Cambridge; a step-son, William (Peg) Anderson of Troy, TN; two step-daughters, Helen (James) Montgomery of Freeport and Dorothy (Glen) Meredith of Cleveland; a brother, Herbert “Joe” Taggart of Scio; two sisters, Edna Faye Shuss of Uhrichsville and Ella Maye Yoho of Canton; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a special friend, Steve Piatt of Freeport.
