Jeremy Hidey MugJeremy J. Hidey , age 39, of Dennison, Ohio, died Wednesday morning, July 9, as the result of a motor vehicle accident on State Route 250 at State Route 646 in Harrison County,that also claimed the life of his friend Charles “Greg” Arbuckle. He was born May 29, 1975 in Dennison, Ohio and was the son of James E. Hidey Sr. of Dennison and Linda Joy Brannon Hidey of Uhrichsville, Ohio.

Although he was not employed, he would often accompany his friend Greg Arbuckle on excavating jobs for safety reasons. A fixture in the Twin Cities area, Jeremy volunteered numerous hours of his time with the Dennison Railroad Depot Polar Express Project. He was honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award for his efforts with the Polar Express. He commonly volunteered to help others in his community with the Dennison Railroad Festival and other events that occurred in the area. He also worked for a number of local farmers when his assistance was requested.

He was a frequent patron of the Route 250 Split Bar and Grill where he made many friends who he thought of as his second family. Jeremy was a 1993 graduate of Conotton Valley High School. He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends.

Calling hours for Jeremy will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville. No formal funeral services will be observed.
