Andrew Bobot, 94, of Harrisville, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Autumn Health Care Center near Harrisville. He was born August 23, 1919 in Maynard, Ohio, a son of the late George J. and Julia Roslaynk Bobot.
Mr. Bobot was a retired Welder, having worked at Hanna Coal Co., R.&F. Coal Co., and Boich Mining Co. He was a volunteer at the Oglebay Nature Center, was a member of the Mended Hearts of Wheeling Hospital, and was Catholic by faith. He was an Army Veteran of WW II, serving in the Combat Engineers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sister, Mary Prettyman, Julia Schnoor, Irene Topazio, and Margaret Parnell; and three brothers, George, Steve, and John Bobot. Surviving are his wife of 75 years, Carolyn Yablonski Bobot; a son, Allen (Patty) Bobot of Harrisville; a daughter, Anita Bobot of Camp Hill, PA; a granddaughter, Elka (Scott) VanCuren of Harrisville; a great grandson, Hunter VanCuren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, August 19, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Monsignor John Kolesar will officiate. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetey, Harrisville.
