James S. Hauber, 82, of Cadiz, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. He was born February 21, 1932 in Parlett, Ohio, a son of the late James and Elizabeth Varkony Hauber. Mr. Hauber was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Cadiz.
He was a former welder at Y.&O. Coal Company, having worked in the Nelms No. 1 and No. 2 Mines, and retired from Barmet Aluminum in Uhrichsville. He was a member of UMWA and the Cadiz American Legion and helped coordinate activities for the Salvation Army in Harrison County. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at 12 p.m. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, 143 E. South St., Cadiz, Ohio, 43907 by Rev. Fred Kihm. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery near Hopedale. Military honors will be performed by the Cadiz American Legion.
