obit art 12Paul Lewis “Toby” Reed, 73, of Cadiz died Thursday, Sept. 18, at his home. He was born September 15, 1941 in Barnesville, Ohio a son of the late Donald and Louise Drake Reed. He was a retired coal miner having worked at Y & O Coal Company, Nelms #2 mine. He was a member of St. James AME Church in Cadiz, the UMWA and NAACP, serving as the Chairman of the Steubenville Chapter. He was a certified electrician.

He was preceded in death by a grandson; three brothers: James Frederick Reed, Sr., George Reed and Howard Reed; and two sisters: Mary Carter and Esther Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Wallace Reed; a daughter, Holly Reed of Cadiz; two sons: Lewis (Michelle) Reed of Mansfield and Jeffery (Ashlee) Reed of Cadiz; six granddaughters; four brothers: David (Anne) Reed of Cadiz, Earl and Robert Reed , Sr. of Columbus and Richard Reed of Germany; and a sister in law, Connie Reed of Cadiz, Ohio.

Calling hours will be held Monday, Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, 300 East Market Street, Cadiz, with Rev. William Lewis officiating.
