obit Eugene Maleski PhotoEugene “Geno” Maleski, 64, passed away November 6, 2014 due to complications during hip surgery following an accident on the family farm. He was born August 25, 1950 in Dennison, Ohio, to the late Edward and Jenny (Gavel) Maleski. Geno is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cynthia (Milarcik) Maleski whom he married on Sept. 11, 1971, and his daughters, Joyce Maleski of Powell, Ohio, and Colleen Maleski of Nashville, Tennessee. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward “Doc” Maleski.

Geno was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Lakeland High School in 1968. A mechanic and car salesman, he was known for his ability to fix anything. He had a passion for MG convertibles and was a member of the Central Ohio MG Owners Club and the Jaguar Clubs of North America. Geno and Cindy would often take MG rides to car shows, auctions, and destinations across Ohio and Pennsylvania. He was the owner of Geno’s Carryout in Tippecanoe for 17 years and was famous for his chicken and ribs, a staple at his Polish parties and Ohio State tailgates. He enjoyed working on the farm and mowing the lawn. Geno was dedicated to his community and will be remembered for his thoughtfulness and support for others.

Visitation was  held Sunday, Nov. 9, from 1 – 5  p.m. at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Funeral services were held at St. Matthias Church in Freeport on Monday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Greenmont Cemetery in Freeport.
