Ralph “Junior” Toland age 78, of 33510 Cadiz-Piedmont Road, Piedmont died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Barnesville Health Care Center, Barnesville, Belmont County, Ohio.
He was born April 23, 1936 in Moorefield Township, Harrison County, Ohio. He was the son of the later Ralph C. Toland, Sr. and Mary Alice Ballentine.
He was a 1954 graduate of Freeport High School.
Junior was a member Freeport Masonic Lodge F&M #415, Stumptown Steam Threshers Association, where he was president for ten years and former member of the Moorefield Township Volunteer Fire Department. He also belonged to the Harrison County Farm Bureau.
He had a career of over sixty years driving a truck hauling milk. He started his career driving for Tarbert Milk Hauling before graduation from high school and then purchased his own truck and created Toland Bulk Milk Hauling in 1968. He retired in 2012.
Surviving is his wife of fifty-two years, Drusilla “Dru” Toland. They were married Oct. 26, 1962 at Unionport United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are a daughter Kim Toland of Flushing; son, Michael (Nancy) Toland of Piedmont; two granddaughters: Chelsea Toland and Kaylee Toland.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alicia Ann Toland; a brother, Fred Toland; and a sister Ruby Perdue and an infant sister, Debbie Toland.
Visitation will be held in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S. High Street on Monday, March 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 6:30 p.m. Services will be Tuesday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wilford Simeral and Pastor Fred Battles officiating. Cremation will follow the service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
