obit art 5Billie Kay Snyder, age 78, of Cadiz, formerly of Scio, died Tuesday, April 14, in Trinity West Hospital, Steubenville after a brief illness.

Born Sept. 9, 1936 in Wileyville (Wetzel Co.), W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Argel Dale McBee and Beulah Lemasters McBee. She attended Follansbee High School and Smithfield High School. She worked at the Scio Pottery and was a nurse’s aide at Sunnyslope Nursing Home retiring in 1997.

Billie was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ. She was an avid reader, mysteries being her favorite. She enjoyed going to garage sales, occasional outings to area casinos and visiting Wetzel County where she had many fond childhood memories. But what she loved most was spending time with her family especially playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband John Snyder, a son Mark Gilham, a son-in-law Bill Krankovich, a grandson Matthew Curtis,a granddaughter Sabre Blanton, a brother Jerry McBee and a sister Betty Cawthorn.

Surviving are children Lynn (Ron) Raber of Jewett, Kim Gilham of McGaheysville, Va., Denise Krankovich of Cadiz, Gail (Kevin) Hunter of Plant City, Fla., and Michelle (Ronnie) Albright of Scio; a sister Patsy Hall of Stoneville, N.C.; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Dean Blythe and her grandson Erik Raber officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett. Friends may call two hours prior to the service Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
