Rickey L. Ferrell, age 65 of Carrollton, passed away March 29, at Mercy Hospital in Canton. He was born March 20, 1950 to Wayne Oliver and Doris Eilene (Barnhart) in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Rickey was originally from the Piedmont and Cadiz area. He worked as a coal miner for 15 years at Rose Valley Mine then Oak Park Mine. He retired from Aleris Rolled Products (Commonwealth Aluminum) with over 25 years.
Rickey loved fishing, antique shopping, his family and grandchildren and life itself.
Survived by his wife Frances the love of his life for 23 years. They were married October 15, 1992. Other survivors are a daughter, Nicole (Bobby) Kidder; a son, Brandon (Carrie) Ferrell; and a brother Wayne (Linda) Ferrell. Rick is also survived by his six grandchildren who were the apples of his eyes and they are Morgan, Cameron, Bailee, Dominic, Dylan and Lea.
A celebration of life for Rickey will be Saturday, April 25, at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Pastor Harold Barber officiating. Family will greet friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
