April 20, Winifred Elizabeth “Winnie” McLandsborough Timmerman, 93, passed away peacefully at Bowerston Hills Healthcare, Bowerston, Ohio. Wife to Lawrence Raymond “Red” Timmerman (1925-1985). Winnie and Red made their home at 91300 Timmerman Rd., Bowerston. They were married in Covington, Kentucky on Sept. 8, 1943. Winnie was a daughter of the late John and Sue Winifred Liggett McLandsborough and was born at Station 15, Harrison Co. on Aug. 8, 1921. Her great grandparents John and Elizabeth Harrison McLandsborough were one of the early settlers of the Dining Fork area.
A Dennison High School graduate, Winnie was a 39 year employee of The Scio Pottery Company as a handle finisher. Winnie was a very quiet, caring, loving person and devoted her life to her husband and family.
Winnie was preceded in death by her only son Jeffrey Ray Timmerman (1955-1972), five sisters Mrs. Margaret (Tom) Greer, Mrs. Kathryn (Sigel) Stocker, Mrs. Mary (Hap) Wright, Mrs. Roberta (Dave Long and Clarence Birney) and Miss Alice McLandsborough, four brothers Sigel (Helen), John (Jennie), Robert (Vivian and Eleanor), Edmond “Tot” (Elma) and an infant brother.
Winnie is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughter Gail (Tom) Dennis, Bowerston, a special granddaughter Ginger of Dublin, loved by her grandson Andy (Karen) Dennis of Hilliard, she was G-Ma to great granddaughters Abby and Emily Hardesty and Jordyn and Courtney Dennis. Sister-in-laws Vickie (Bob Timmerman) Burnhouse and Arlene (Jim) Beatty and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be held Friday at 12 p.m. in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Sheila Roy, a friend in Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Conotton Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 10 am to 12 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Scio United Methodist Church, PO Box 554, Scio 43988.
