Virginia Thompson Johnson Ramsey, 82, of Cadiz, died Sunday, April 19, at the Carriage Inn of Cadiz. She was born August 11, 1932 in McIntyre, Ohio, a daughter of the late Samuel and Thelma Atkins Thompson.
Mrs. Ramsey was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz and was a retired Nurses Aid at the Carriage Inn of Cadiz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Ramsey in 1989; two daughters, Virginia Bell and Alfretta Johnson; four sisters, Barbara, Gloria and Mamie Thompson and Alma Wile; and three brothers, Theodore “Debt” Atkins and Floyd and Lloyd Thompson.
Surviving are two daughters, Georgia (Ronald) McCollins and Alfreda Ann Goff, both of Cadiz; a son, Alfred McKinley (Deirdre Hollins) Johnson of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a brother, Frederick Craig Thompson of Hopedale; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz, with Rev. Charles Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
