Doris J. Chirsty, 87 of Hopedale, died Friday, May 1, in Steubenville after a long illness. She was born in Steubenville on July 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Richard Carl Baker and Mary Moore. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Kimble and Ruth Valkosky and a son in law, Randy Barnhart.
Doris was a graduate of the Wayne High School class of 1946. She was a member and Sunday school teacher of the Hopedale Church of Christ since 1946.
Doris is survived by her husband of 57 years, Glenn Christy, and a daughter Carla Jo Barnhart of Benton, Ill.; two grandchildren, Lindsay (Nathan) White of St. Charles, Mo., and Corey (Kacey) Barnhart of Vincennes Ind.; a sister Alice (Rex) Morgan of Hopedale, and three great- grandchildren, Korinne, Parker and Fynnlee.
Doris was an avid animal lover particularly of horses.
Services were held at the Hopedale Church of Christ on Tuesday with Pastor Dean Blythe officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
