DeLora Lucille Litten Breeden, 85, of Sun Valley, Calif., formerly of Cadiz and Hopedale, Ohio died peacefully at her home on June 8. She was born Nov. 1, 1929 in Flushing, Twp., Belmont County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Wade Dewitt and Martha Lucille Craig Litten.
DeLora was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Junior Breeden. She is survived by her three children Linda Waldron, Marsha Plaisance (m. Robert Plaisance), and Craig Breeden, along with her four grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both her parents Martha Lucille Craig Litten and Wade Dewitt Litten, along with her much loved Brother Charles Wade Litten. She is survived by her sisters Nancy Darling, Janet Lewis, Becky Darios, Ruth Lemley and Helen Costello.
DeLora was a force to be reckoned with, going to work later in life to help support her family and staying with the Sears Corporation for 25 years where upon which she retired. Her greatest love in life was traveling with her son and grandchildren. Taking each of her grandchildren on their first plane rides but her favorite trip among the many she took were the two grand European tours. She always loved the window seat on airplanes because the views looking out brought her so much joy and possibilities.
She lived in California for the greater part of her adult life but her heart always remained in Ohio with her many family members and the farms she always called home. She spoke often and lovingly of her life on the farm with her family and extended family.
DeLora will be remembered as being the strong supporting oak of a large family that relied on her in so many ways, she will be missed by her family who loved her with a full heart.
What we will remember when we look back, are the times when kindness made a difference in our lives.
